My Story

When Derek Weis moved from Huntington Beach, CA to Kauaʻi in 2008, it wasn’t just for the waves — it was for a way of life. Nearly 20 years in construction, and over a decade specializing in electrical work on the island, have given him both the technical expertise and the local know-how to handle any project with skill and care.

As a licensed journeyman electrician and licensed electrical contractor, Derek has worked on some of Kauaʻi’s most notable properties — from The Royal Sonesta’s full renovation and Bali Hai Villas in Princeville, to Kauaʻi Shores and top-notch luxury homes on the North Shore. While custom luxury new home builds are his specialty, he’s just as committed to the smaller jobs — wiring appliances for a restaurant, upgrading a panel in a plantation home, or hanging a ceiling fan for a neighbor.

Derek’s work is guided by his faith. It shapes how he treats people, the promises he keeps, and the pride he takes in doing every job the right way.

Rooted here with his wife and three children, Derek believes that every client is more than a customer — they’re part of the community he calls home. Whether it’s a resort ballroom or your living room, he treats every project like it’s for his Ohana.
